A theoretical redesign of Game Developer Magazine, a publication for creators of video games that ended print production this year. The redesign opted for a clean and orderly content structure, while utilizing a loose and airy aesthetic that showcased the colorful content of the subject matter. I used a "d-pad" as an icon because of its importance as an interactive tool in the minds of those who play and develop games. The icon is used in the logo, section labels, as a stand in for advertisements, and as the tombstone at the end of every article. My goal was to use the conventions of magazine design while attempting to create a different but very functional format for displaying the content of the publication.
